Cheap Iron Doping Supercharges Vanadium Dioxide Cathodes for Zinc-Ion Batteries

Researchers at IIT Indore found that substituting a quarter of the vanadium in VO2 cathodes with cheap, earth-abundant iron expands the crystal lattice, narrows the band gap, and cuts vanadium dissolution by about 92 percent, delivering record zinc-ion storage performance.
